Baked Christmas Cookies

Last night I baked Christmas cookies! Having done so, I had to endeavor to practice food photography shots. :)

I hope people find them as tasty as I do.
Merry Christmas

A Sincere Thank You to the Anonymous Giver

Last night as I was writing Christmas cards, my husband and I heard somebody knock on our door. Since it was nearing a late hour my husband and I were a little hesitant to open the door so quickly. I watched my husband quietly walk over to the door, look through the peep-hole, and then shortly after called me over eagerly. Confused, I walked over while my husband opened the door to see that somebody had brought over a beautiful Christmas tree to our home. This year to live within our means during this Christmas season, my husband and I had chosen to be content with our tiny Christmas tree decoration which sat on our dinner table. We hadn't told very many people about this, so we were shocked to see this tree. Nobody was at our doorstop, no letter or note was found. We have suspicions of who may have dropped this off to us but we don't know. We were simply grateful.

Seeing this tree at our doorstep brought tears to my eyes. To whoever brought this tree to our door, thank you so much. Thank you for being so generous and kind as to bring a Christmas tree to our home, which thanks to it, our house has that sweet, Christmas-pine aroma. Moreover thank you for reminding me what truly makes the Christmas season so special, and for reminding me what Christmas is all about: striving to be like Christ and sending love by serving and giving to others. The photos I took of the tree may not do it justice but the memory attached to them will never be forgotten :)

Meeko would like to know who brought the tree over!

Thank you for the beautiful tree, thank you for the sweet reminder.
Merry Christmas :)

Grace's Fam Shoot

The other weekend I got to photograph one of my best friend's family. The feel that they were going for was more traditional, which we did get some of, but she also added the word "fun" to it and my gosh! SO fun was their photo shoot!!

Having known them for years I can honestly say that there are so many qualities about this family that I simply admire and hope to have with my own in the future.

Check out this adorable, hilarious family.
This is her :)

and her family.

As you can see we definitely got a few traditional shots.
But can you simply see how fun this shoot was? Such a bright family :)

Here are a few portraits of her cuz she is beautiful :)

Disney's World of Color: M Kat edition

Tonight I got to try a project that I've been wanting to put to the test for a while. When it turned out, I couldn't hold back a squeal of excitement. I think it turned out pretty well!

Ladies and gents, here is my version of Disney's World of Color. :)

The idea came from this Pinterest post. Thank you to the original idea creator.
I am going to give you the inside scoop of how you can create this too.

Materials:
Paper (I used brown, similar to the one on the Pin)
Dslr Camera
f/1.4 50mm lens (I think other 50mms can work just fine, but when I went up to f/3.2 the effect was too blurry for my taste)
Rubberband or strong hairtie
Christmas lights

Instructions:
Cut out the desired shape near the middle of the paper
Place the paper on your lens. If you want to wrap the paper around the lens like I did, you will need extra paper to put space between the lens and paper.
Place the rubber band/hairtie around the paper to secure the paper onto the lens.
On manual mode, adjust the focus keeping the aperature nice & close to 1.4 (or you can try all different f stops!)
Play with the exposure. I believe the exposures that worked out best for me was -1, -2/3 or +1.
Snap snap snap! :)

It's Christmas season :)

Dinner Rolls

Lately my husband has been into bread making, and so far hes made many loaves of bread! Never had I known just how much tastier home-made bread in comparison to store-bought ones until he started getting into his baking groove. Thank you Chadsen :))

This is his latest creation: Dinner Rolls.

This is a picture of it just before going in the oven!

The next bread post will showcase our Amish Sweet Bread :)

Bridal Shoot: Creative Floral Design

For this bridal shoot, one of my best friends Stacey modeled as a bride for me to showcase two bouquets made by Creative Floral Designs. For those who know her, please don't freak out saying, "She's getting married!!" The key word is "modeled", so hold onto your celebrations :)

This was another fun shoot!

This is the bouquet I requested for the shoot.

This is another bouquet that they offered to give me since they were done using it for a bridal show. I'm so glad that they gave this one to me because it fit so well with Stace!

I'm Asian, she's Caucasian. I ask for peace sign, she give peace sign. :)

I love capturing photos that display the subject's personality!

Thank you again Stacey for being such the model, and Creative Floral Designs for the floral arrangements :)

See you soon.
